Follow the yellow brick road.

It's official. The nightstand I've been freaking out over (featured here) is going to be painted yellow. Not a yellow-yellow though. More of a marigold-yellow. Paint is purchased and color is going on this weekend.

In honor of this procrastinated (and a little nerve-racking) decision, here are some rooms with an accent color of - you guessed it - yellow.

Tips for Use:
  • If using as accent, make sure there is at least one yellow accessory opposite from each other to keep a balance.
  • If primary color, use white or gray to tone it down. Try orange, green or maybe even pink for something bright and fun but still complimentary.
  • Try using the color on something other than a pillow. It's more unexpected and adds a sense of depth.
  • The brighter the color, the less formal the room's tone. If you want add yellow but keep the room from seeming overly playful, opt for a softer hue.

Happy Friday!
